Bringing to the stage breathtaking virtuosity and a sheer inexhaustible wellspring of creativity, the Canadian progressive rock band Rush has for more than thirty years enthused fans of sophisticated rock music all over the whole world. And although every member of Rush is able to accomplish inimitable feats on his instrument, guitarist Alex Lifeson figures prominently in the sonic equation, imprinting the power trio's every performance with his unique sounds. For years his reliable partner in tone has been our all-tube all-rounder numero uno - TriAmp MK II.
As a gesture of gratitude for Alex's trust in our work, as well as to offer all aficionados of advanced tube amps a very special treat, we turned up a new version of the six-channel TriAmp. Working closely with the maestro himself, our engineers managed to forge a cream machine that delivers the goods in terms of both tone and taste. Take, for example, its getup: In keeping with Alex's wishes, the head's venerable plexiglas front panel is backlit in a stylish shade of purple (blue is the color on the standard TriAmp). Alex's signature is inscribed on the left lower corner of the front panel, making each amp an exclusive collector's item. The amp's exterior covering also boasts a very special look: The hip black crocodile-style covering is not only extremely hard-wearing, it's a head-turning visual treat. Like the captain said, one look and you'll be hooked. And this sound-generating monster's inner values certainly live up to the exterior's bold promise. Courtesy of a unique concept featuring three discrete, individually variable amp sections sporting two channels each, this tube-powered all-rounder offers a sonic spectrum that sets a high-water mark for quality and versatility. And with that, it is able to satisfy the demands of extremely discerning players of Alex Lifeson's caliber. It dishes out the full menu, from tangy vintage California clean and savory '60s British Clean (Amp1) to crisp-and-crunchy classic rock grit (Amp 2). And if your taste runs to creamy, '90s era lead and ultramodern nu metal thunder, Amp3 is sure to delight your sonic palate. Serving up all sounds ASAP, the smart head ships with a Stageboard tweaked for utmost handling convenience. Forget the pedal board tap dance - even radical transitions from soft, chiming clean to feral nu rock mean are accomplished at the touch of a button. What more could you want in an amp? Perhaps the optionally available MSM-1 Midi Module. It turns Alex's amp into a multi-functional switching center. In the past, intrepid players seeking true tonal versatility for navigating all musical genres were compelled to tote expensive racks and complicated switching systems. That was then, this is now: The MSM-1 module lets you access individually functions such as channel switching and manage external effectors. You can even switch details such as the FX loop mode (serial/parallel) remotely. Offering some sweet icing on the cake, the first 500 amps ship with an exclusive Rush tour book, a special release Rush CD, an Alex Lifeson pick and a certificate signed by Alex.
